The most effective curriculum for students in your school is one that is custom built for them. At a time when the new statutory curriculum requirements are being introduced in England, we all need to remember that it is the memorable learning experiences created by passionate and talented teachers that brings learning to life and encourages pupils to excel.

I bet if you think back you can remember at least one memory of a particular lesson or teacher that has stayed with you. It may be that this has even shaped future choices you have made and had an impact on the career path you have chosen or a lifelong love of art or sports etc.

Although the curriculum is there to be used as a guide to show you what needs to be taught, it does not always stipulate how this should be accomplished. Make sure that you make your lessons as exciting and interesting as possible as research proves that pupils respond best to this type of teaching.

The term, Cover Supervisor Jobs, is new in UK schools. This job title is the result of government’s agenda, ‘Remodelling on the School Workforce.’ To become a cover supervisor, you must have a strong character. Classroom behaviour management skills are not enough for handling this duty efficiently. Instead, you must also have teacher sniping skills to undertake the responsibilities of this job title. However, this job is extremely rewarding and highly demanding.

With many students getting there GCSE results this week, some have asked how important they really are. If you are looking to attend sixth form or college, then GCSE results can make a difference between being offered a place and not. If you are looking to leave school though and go in to work the actually grades you get may not determine if you are offered a job. Some jobs do state that you need grades A-C in Maths, English and Science where as others are based more on information the employer gathers from you at an interview. With thousands of people applying for jobs every week, it makes sense that many employers will use GCSE grades as a benchmark to decided who they want to take through to the next stage, so although you may not have to have a set amount of GCSE’s, it may just give you that edge over someone else.

Many children go to nursery now from quite a young age, but what are the positive and negative impact this has on a child’s later learning. From speaking to quite a few primary school teachers, they have said that it is quite obvious which children have been to a play group or nursery setting regularly before attending school. This is mostly due to the way they seem to have more confidence when it comes to interacting with other children.

As they have to also teach now in nurseries and have a strict learning guide to stick to, it can also mean that the children moving up in to reception already have a knowledge of subjects that may be taught by the teacher in school. Many mums and dads feel that they do not want to put their child in nursery but research does seem to show that one or two days a week from about the age of two can actually benefit your child in later life.
