A process of change has recently begun in the legal sector, as a result of an important change in law. This change is because of a change in the law firm partnership laws, or because of the legal services act. Part of this act of government involves a liberalisation of the partnership requirements, whereby a lessened portion of the law firms partners need to be lawyers. This means that it is far more easy for bigger corporations to invest in law firms. Another significant change to the legal profession, is that they are now able to team up with other professional enterprises, such as accountancy and architecture. For consumers, these changes are a good thing, but for the establishment within the legal profession, this is probably less of a good thing. After all, change is rarely a good thing for the establishment. It is a good thing for consumers, because they can go to one company, and get all of the services required to, for instance, start a building development. This is going to have significant impact on the incoming lawyers, whom have been hard hit by the recession.
